Yamaha NS1000 speakers. This is the version without the M suffix. Unlike the NS1000M it was meant for super high performance home audio system. It has a warmer tone with stronger bass production. Finish is a beautiful ebony wood veneer which is still in good condition. Only a couple of small dinks in the veneer on the bottom edges of the speakers. The front face is in excellent condition. Not sure of the model of the Lowther drivers at this point as there are no model markings on the drivers. Note that the four drivers had the foam surround recently replaced. Sony S333ES three way speakers. These are rare outside of Japan as they were made only for the domestic market. Looks a little like the Yamaha NS1000 but slightly bigger and heavier at about 40 kg each. The 12" woofer and the 3" midrange unit use what looks like carbon fiber and the tweeter has a ceramic dome. Comparing with the Yamaha NS1000 it is transparent sounding but without having any hardness in the treble. Stronger bass and fuller midrange reproduction than the NS1000.   The legendary classic Yamaha NS1000M speakers. Three way 13" woofers. Mid range and tweeter units used the very exotic metal known as beryllium. Recognized as one of the best speakers ever designed and built. Fast and ruthlessly revealing of the quality of partnering electronics. The drivers are in excellent condition. Even the metal grills protecting them are still perfectly form. However the cabinets have a number of small and light scratches on them. But they are still structurally still solid. Magnaplanar MG 3A electromagnetic planar speakers with ribbon tweeters. 6 ft tall and 2 ft wide but only about 1" thick. No boxy coloration and a very seductive and open sound. High frequency is superb due to the 5ft long ribbons. Comes with the original external crossovers. However the left panel tends to buzz at high levels due to the part of the wires coming loose from the diaphragm. Some service required, hence the low selling price of S$650.Sold

This LS35A was originally a UK kit set sold in the 90's. Drivers and crossovers are all original like the KEF T27 tweeters and B110 woofers. Crossovers are the 15 ohms set from the Rogers factory. Kits sold then were  without the cabinets. This kit was build into a pair of lovely  Corian black granite cabinets.  Joins are seamless. Only the front is made from plywood. Internal volume and proportion follows the LS35A mould. The sound too has the presence and warmth typical of this classic. All drivers are working fine. One of the cabinets has a small chip on one side. Not visible though even when looking directly at it, due to the black granite finish. S$850.Sold

A pair of Rogers LS35A in a luxurious bird eye veneer. This is a factory original for some sort of anniversary limited edition celebration.
